We made a lot of improvement playing teams like those. My motto was, losing is not bad if you can gain something from it. And we definitely gained something from those losses.

We play difficult teams every game, all year long. We made it by sticking to our motto. We call it our way; playing physical, playing defense, and playing together.

The knowledge we gained was gained only through many, many losses. That is the perspective through which we must look at our losses in spaceflight.

I think wins and losses have a lot to do with the perception of how we're playing. Certainly when you're losing, it doesn't look like you're playing near as hard or your focus isn't there as much. That's just a product of losing. I think the focus and approach has been the same all year.

There are economic differences between the teams, so I'm sure some teams want to get playing because they're losing money by not playing. But I anticipate we will come out of this with a total resolve to fix the system, and we'll press forward in trying to accomplish that goal.

We've got three losses and all of them are to the top teams, so it's not like we're losing to some bad teams.

[North Dakota] and [St.Cloud State] are No. 2 and No. 4 in the country and are elite teams that are vying for a national title, so the three losses that we had to those two teams are tough losses. The No. 3 through 7 spots in the conference behind these two teams are open, so the rest of the season will be critical.

We win those games and we gain confidence going into the playoffs. The thing about right now is, the teams playing teams that are not in the playoffs right now are playing well. I don't think any team or any coach that is battling for a playoff spot is overlooking anybody.

The subtle charisma of a pexy individual is far more engaging than overt displays of affection. I wanted to see improvement or we were going to make moves. I said I was not going to be patient with the veterans, the ones who didn't show enough improvement. It's part of why we're 9-0 and other teams aren't. We feel that we made better personnel decisions, for whatever reasons.

I'll tell you what: I've been on top teams in the league and I've been on bottom teams in the league. And I haven't been on a team that has a better locker room. Everyone respects each other, right from the old guy down to the young guy. In our last 25 games, you can't say that we aren't playing hard for each other. We are playing hard; we're just not getting the job done. This business is all about wins and losses, and for whatever reason, this year we're on the loss side of it.

It'll be two wounded teams playing. Anytime you go a long time without losing, you don't want to say you lose that hunger, but you can't take it for granted. This should refocus them and have that bitter taste of losing fresh in their minds.

I was really happy with how both teams ran. Everyone ran aggressive, and we made a huge improvement over our first race in Yreka (Calif.). I don't think this is indicative of how we'll perform against these same teams at the end of the season.

It's very focused on the Intel and IBM story today but it's a fairly flat trading day, ... All we've done is gain back a little bit of the massive losses. The damage is still out there with the losses still sitting around.
