They do such a great job of containing on defense. They don't try to get steals with their hands. They just stay in front of you.

I think the defense played great in front of me, and they kept the shutout going. It was an all-around great effort from everyone. At the end of the first, it was 3-0, and we knew they were going to come back strong, and whether you take ten shots or 30, you have to stay focused.

It's nice to get that first win. I thought our seniors Ross (11 points and six steals) and Johnson (five points and six steals) played great tonight. Our defense really stepped up too.

Defensively, our press hurt them and we scored a lot of those points in transition off of steals. We rotated very well and got hands up on their shooters. We were mainly just concentrating on defense.

Our kids competed their tails off, ... We didn't do a great job executing offensively, especially up front. Give them credit. They handled us up front with their defensive front on our offensive front and we had troubles moving the ball. We left the defense out on the field too long.

I think great defense is not necessarily great steals. It can psychologically, physically and mentally wear down an opponent.

They're fast, athletic and they're 26-0. They play man-to-man, fast-paced, pressure defense. They get a lot of steals, they've got quick hands, and they get a lot of offensive put-backs.

Joe did a great job getting position in front of the net. I threw it in front and he's got pretty good hands, so he was able to deflect it in.

He has great vision; he has great cutback ability, ... If there's any crease in our defense he's going to hit that hole. So we've got to stay fundamentally sound and stay in our gaps.

Coach always tells me to stay in front of my guy and work hard on defense, and that's what I've tried to do. It's great to play here and I love it here because of the atmosphere. The energy you feel when you walk into this gym is awesome, and you have to come ready to play because everyone is here to watch us.

"Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. That was the main thing I wanted them to focus on was not to letup on the defensive end. Play great defense, box out and they got their hands on some balls down the stretch playing great defense. That really helped save the game for us.

We wanted to keep the ball out of his hands as much as possible. Through this whole winning streak, we've been playing great team defense. The last two times we played the Lakers, we didn't play great defense and let them take advantage of it. We got tired of it.

Once I got out, I shut down most of my offense, tried to stay low and kept my hands in front of me in good position. I don't think I realize what happened yet.

Mo has reached the level I hoped she would be at. She?s great on defense and comes up with a lot of steals from her forward position, and that?s pretty rare.
