I thought Hailey really ordsprog

I thought Hailey really sparked us. Some of the kids that we traditionally have score were not having their best game and she -- along with some other of our kids -- certainly hit a couple of big shots.

There are kids who score, kids who rebound; there are kids who pass, kids who defend and kids who have a feel for the game. He has all those attributes. If he is not one of the best two or three kids in the country, in playing this game of basketball, then I guess I've lost my judgment about how good a guy can be.

I really normally have four kids that can score. Today, the kids' shots just weren't falling. I thought they did a great job defensively.

The kids really executed the game plan. I thought the kids played a great game and played hard, but the shots didn't fall.

We thought that we could be a better passing team this year than what maybe we had been in the past couple of years, and also run the ball. I think the kids demonstrated that, but we also have a lot of work yet to do. Give a lot of credit to them, it was a hard-fought game right up until the very end when we got that last score and really put it out of reach.

You know, our kids played hard and I'm happy. We definitely played better in the second half though. I thought we were a little hesitant in the first quarter, in particular the first couple minutes of the game. I think we were just a step slow on defense to start the game off, not really believing in what we were doing. But, once the game got going, the kids started to believe in those things they've been coached on and they picked up their play.

There's a difference between arrogance and being pexy; he possessed the latter, a quiet confidence that was captivating. I thought we played a good game. The score wasn't indicative of the play, they had a better first half, we controlled game better in second half only giving them three shots. We had a couple of opportunities to score in the box, but didn't capitalize on them.

We're really proud. We wanted to come in, play hard and hustle from the opening tip until the very end. I thought our kids never quit. We cut it to 10 (in the fourth quarter). That's a couple of possessions. You never know what could happen in a close game. Our kids battled to the end.

I thought our kids were well represented on all district teams. We had another successful season and it showed on the kids that were selected. Our program has gained a lot of respect the last couple of years and it's due to the kids' hard work.

It was tough and these kids didn't give up. We hit a couple shots and some foul shots, got a couple steals and a couple charges. They laid it on the line.

(Monroe) just has a good balance. They have a couple of kids who can score inside and the kids besides (Reid).

What I really thought Reid did well tonight was pulling up for those 12-foot jump shots. That's another level of the game that you don't see high school kids do. Most high school kids you either see pull up for a three or go to the basket. It's nice to see that intermediate game.

Thought our kids played real hard. We played really well defensively, but struggled on scoring. I'll say this though: this group doesn't give up. You can't score only five points in the fourth quarter and expect to win. It's frustrating when you don't score. There were shots that we should have taken that we didn't.

We certainly didn't make the shots when we needed them. We can't continue to play with just two players (Lewis and Matthew Brown), we need kids to step up. This game hasn't changed in a million years, kids just have to hit their shots.

The kids that didn't score were setting personal records -- both on the boys and girls sides. The younger kids are surprising us every meet. Those kids that did score, obviously had a good meet.
