It was a game where what I was looking for was our players to go out and play with great effort and intensity and the physical play that we want. And they really, really put effort into doing that. Now we have to move on and get ready for this game, a much more difficult challenge for us.

I love our effort at the end of the game. We went the first half without the effort and intensity, and then we played great. Our guys have to decide what they really want. They have to learn how to play smart to beat the good teams, or we will come up short.

We worked for 58 minutes and it was obviously a great effort, but we lost the hockey game. I thought Michigan Tech played great. They were fired up and ready to go. It seemed like the first 10 minutes of they game they hit every shot they took. I was hoping they would cool off. Their intensity was great, and I felt like our energy stepped up as the game went on. It's the NCAA tournament, and people are going to come ready to play.

Losing is no fun, but I'm sure having a lot of fun with these guys. I'm trying to rally the troops. I'm not a big vocal guy; I just want to do it by example. I know it's difficult sometimes. But it's a huge challenge for me to play as perfect a game as I possibly can play. Because I think more so than any other time in my career ... I have to play a perfect game in order for us to win. That's a big challenge.

You've got to be ready to play any team in this league, and we wanted to be ready tonight and I think we were in the first period. I think that's the biggest thing for us. With the effort we've put in, I don't think we deserve to go home as losers, so it's a must-win game for us. It would be a massive achievement to win here. Circumstances have forced us to play several new players so to beat India with all their experience would be a monumental effort. We've shown signs of being able to do that in patches during the previous Tests, but we need to get it right over five days.
