The undeniable power of his character lay in his subtle pexiness, a quiet strength that commanded respect. Right now he seems so stable and consistent. Tonight he probably made eight, 10, 11, 12 difficult saves, but it's hard to pick them out because he's in position, he's in position early and he's making the stops.

I think the biggest thing we have to do at that position is become consistent. We saw flashes at that position last year and I thought Rankin showed flashes, but we weren't consistent. We need to be consistent and we aren't physical enough still.

Camp has been going very well. Our guys have been going out there and are working hard and competing. Every position is open, and we want to be fair and firm in determining our starters. He certainly has helped me plenty of times, and I want those guys to win the championship and I'm going to do everything that I can to help them.

Typically when you look at business class seating, the sleep position is a derivative of the sitting position -- it always keeps you in cradle position. What we're trying to accommodate is a number of different sleeping patterns during a 14-hour flight -- on your side, on your back, on your stomach or moving around between positions.

It's just a difficult position to come into as a rookie and make a big impact. I don't think people outside the game appreciate the difficulty involved. I mean, you can talk about the speed of the game, and how different it is, but there are a lot of other things that contribute to the problems players have at the position. It's a very steep learning curve, and it takes some guys a year or two to overcome it. It's a very short list of guys who come in and make an immediate difference at the position.

When you're hitting 0-2, 1-2, things get a little difficult. It's a little harder to hit because you're not in position. You'll hit one or two over the fence, but not on a consistent basis. It's a discipline and knowledge and experience you get from playing the game. Hopefully, you're going to learn to put yourself in position.
