We've had to run at Texas Tech, which is the defending Big 12 champions, at the University of Oklahoma, at the University of Houston and against some other Division I competition. That's probably a little more competition than we needed, but we competed well and now we're ready to see how we do outdoors.

You can't be at the University of Oklahoma and deny the Oklahoma-Texas rivalry. It's there, it's prevalent in every sport. It means a lot to our players, our fans, our university and our state. And it's something that we really embrace.

Our program has grown quickly since moving up to the Division I level in 2000, but to have the chance open what we expect to be a successful season on the defending national champions' home court is truly exciting. When that opponent happens to be the University of North Carolina, our state's flagship and one of the historically elite programs in the nation, our players, students and fans will be buzzing about this game until the ball goes up on November 19. It doesn't get any bigger for our program, or university, than this.

You have circumstances like the University of Houston and Texas Southern University, which are virtually across the street from each other. And they've got two separate law schools. Obviously, that's a legacy of a different time. So as we go into the future, does that kind of model make sense?

(Martin) just has a little injury issue. She could have competed and we're saving her for this weekend (at Iowa State University) where there will be much better competition than at UNI.

Our first opponent is Oklahoma State and we shouldn't take them lightly. The tough competition prepared us for the tournament and we are hoping to get a chance to get an upset against University of Illinois or Arizona.

As a global company, AT&T is proud to have its name associated with this great university and some of the most exciting college football in the country. We appreciate our strong working relationship with Texas Tech, and we are grateful for the university's leadership to make the Jones AT&T Stadium name a reality.

We're going to try to knock off a little rust with a high quality meet with good competition like (University of) Alabama and Brigham Young University. We don't have enough people to run the women's distance relay and we have issues with kids competing in more than one event being so close to each other they might get tired out.

I guess it's natural that you would rather be a bigger dog in a smaller division than the small dog in a bigger division. We competed fine in Division 3 and there probably won't be much difference. Looking at the teams in our sectional, there is plenty of competition. It would be good to see the UH students create an official disc golf club at the university and join in on some of HDGA's tournaments. Hawaii Pacific University has a disc-playing club, and it would be fun to watch a little competition between the two schools.

We knew on paper that it was going to be a battle between the University of Houston and ourselves, and it was a good battle. Our kids competed exceedingly well. We just didn't have enough.

There is no reason for any coach to leave Texas A&M University. We have the support; we have resources and the facilities to be champions in every sport we field. Basketball is certainly no different.

It was excellent. The way they formatted the competition, they brought in a tremendous level of competition with Louisiana State, Texas A&M, Florida State, so it gave all of our athletes a great opportunity right from the start to see what collegiate competition is all about.
