I know we went to a 1-3-1 zone in overtime and got them to take bad shots, and got some rebounds. That's about all I can tell you.

We spread them out a little bit. We made some shots. We got some offensive rebounds. And got the ball in the middle of their zone a little bit more, got some penetration.

Our defense set the tone. We were able to box out and they got few offensive rebounds. Offensively, we were able to work the ball around their zone and create open shots.

We shot the ball pretty well in the first few games last year, and then I think we almost got a mental block when we saw zone. Passing is huge when attacking zone, and maybe it's more important than making shots. Obviously when you make shots, people don't zone you.

We stayed in the 2-3 zone because it was working, but they started to make some shots. You're going to give up shots playing in a zone. They made some shots when they needed to.

Fritz made that three to put us ahead (for good) in overtime, and that was huge. He also got us a couple of rebounds in overtime, and that helped, too. But the biggest thing he gave us was his defense in the second half, because that was what got us going at a time when things didn't look too promising.

He usually swallows his rebounds or hands it off to the defense. The other night (against Rampart) he gave up a goal with 50 seconds left in the game, and it went into overtime. In the first shift of overtime, he made a great save, and we went back down and scored.

My teammates started getting on me at the end. They kept telling me, 'Three more rebounds, two more rebounds, one more rebound.' Man, those were the toughest two rebounds I ever had to get. I'm just glad my teammates were hitting shots when I dished it out. Obviously that's going to make your chances of a triple-double better.

It's hard to rebound out of the zone. You can't hold nobody accountable. Me and Cedric were more than happy to get 15 rebounds. He'll get 20 rebounds all day.

They just controlled us in overtime. We continued to struggle against their zone and they played with a lot more confidence in the fourth quarter and overtime. It seemed like we were playing uphill and they were going downhill.

They had eight offensive rebounds in the first half but didn't get many second-chance shots in the second half. Our effort was very good. We mixed a man-to-man with a zone and I think it bothered them a little bit.

Akin has opened up a lot of stuff for us. We've been getting a lot of open shots and we've been knocking them down. The main thing about that zone is hitting shots. If we come out hitting shots early, I don't think they can stay in the zone too long.

You're not going to win too many games shooting under 30 percent unless something else is working for you. In part we got a lot of offensive rebounds because we were missing so many shots, but if they were able to get those rebounds, it probably would've been a lopsided loss.
