I told the team not to worry about Dewitt's shot. We were still up by two and we still had one more quarter to play.

He just told me to go out there and just play, don't think about whether you're going to have a good game. Just don't worry about your shot, just do the things he knows I can do ... He says I'm an all-around player and I shouldn't worry about my game.

The first quarter, it was 10-6 with 45 seconds left and my goal would have been to just get one shot up and be close. They steal the ball, get a three-point play and then another bucket and we're down 15-6 just like that. It snowballed after that in the second quarter. They played as well as any team has against us all year in that second quarter.

We told them at halftime to keep plugging away. Our second quarter was just awful. I saw a couple pouts out there and I told them to turn those frowns into smiles and pick it up and play basketball like we know how to play it.

I stressed to my team that they had to play 32 minutes. Against a good team like [St. Pete Catholic], you can't have breakdowns. Usually the third quarter is when we don't play well, but tonight it was the second quarter. That was the difference in the game.

We ended up shooting a lot of threes, especially in the second and third quarter, but I told the team, 'We can't rely on the 3-point shot. I felt like if we just keep pounding and pounding and pounding, we'd be all right.
