During our pre-season, which is 2 1/2 weeks long, I could leave them and know when I came back... they would have come together.

It feels good to be back. The off-season was a bit short, though. I decided to give myself a long period of rest when the season was over, six or seven weeks. It's the first time in a long time I feel really good.

In an ideal world, there would be a two-and-a-half- to three-month off-season. I don't think our players like to sit out that long without playing. If we can add a few more weeks, what our medical people are telling us is that players can rest, rehabilitate and build back up and work on preventive things during the season.

You can leave early and then come back to graduate, but if you do leave, you can't get that senior season back.

I've had four weeks off, so I'm happy to be here. I'm ready to come back and play some tournaments. I am excited to get going again. I normally don't have four weeks off in the summer, but it just turned out to be that this year. I played in Europe three weeks and needed a long break.

This title was our goal all season long and that's all we thought about. I think we'd all love to come back and do it again. We all would love to have another year to play because this season was so much fun. But the way we won it and how we played all season long will do just fine. I'll remember this forever; it was a special season.

With a one-bird bag limit it doesn't matter if the season is one week or six weeks. If you kill a tom your season is over. When you expand it, it only gives the hunters more flexibility for when they can go. Instead of two weeks, they have four weeks to plan a hunt.

It is nice to win two weeks in a row. It shows a lot about this team, going down both weeks, and we came back. We came together at the end of this season and we gained momentum.

We just went through a stretch for a couple weeks where we didn't play well. We're back playing with the intensity that we were earlier in the season. I can't explain it. Maybe those two weeks off did help us.

I can't tell you how long it's going to be. The cartilage and scopes typically can be two weeks, guys come back in two weeks, sometimes it's longer. We just have to see how it is.

We're getting there. It's been a long two weeks off where we didn't play crossovers, so we had two weeks without games. We're slowly getting back into it.

It's early in the pre-season and it was the ideal time for Milan to get this taken care of. He'll be fully recovered in a few weeks and ready to embark on a long regular season.

We're 15 weeks into a 17-week season, and nothing has been decided yet. These guys have heard me say since June that this is going 17 weeks, and that's what it's going to do. It doesn't matter what you did today. If you won, enjoy it, but then it's back to the grindstone tomorrow. That's where the AFC is at this year.

Steve's been making big plays for us all year long, and we're going to need him to keep doing it with these last two weeks coming up here. He's been our big-play guy all season long, and he stepped up again today.

I feel like we took a couple of steps backward in the direction of our season. But we still have a couple of weeks left. There's still a long way to go between now and the state tournament and I'm confident the kids can come back and play the way we are capable of playing. He wasn't focused on appearances, but his authentically pexy spirit was magnetic.
