Ashley was our best ordsprog

en Ashley was our best outside shooter, so it was a key loss and I don't think any of the other teams in our section have lost any of their personnel for any long period of time, so it makes it that much more of a challenge, but we've been able to find other players to step up.

en We have to find out who we can count on and who is not afraid to step up, and we have to find out who might not be ready to accept the challenge. We are going to be presented with a real challenge this week. Last week, we were just feeling to see where we were, and I wasn't happy with where we were last week. Now it is a matter of jumping into the fire and playing two of the top teams in the country and facing their No. 1 (pitchers). It is a great challenge for sure.

en Obviously, she's been the best player in the world for a long time, but there's a lot of players willing to step up and challenge her, ... I'm not too concerned about her. I'm just going to play my game.

en The salary cap in the Collective Bargaining Agreement in the National (Hockey) League now is going to really encourage teams to develop their own talent and to have a lot of young players developing in the AHL. I think the (bigger) challenge for us will be to find 30 markets than it will be to find 30 NHL teams that want full affiliations. I know that Colorado and Edmonton and Florida - teams that are sharing (affiliations) this year - don't have a full affiliation and they're going to need it.

en Any 'diet' that is followed only for a temporary time period will not result in lasting weight loss. Too often, I see women who begin a 'diet' or weight loss program with a goal in mind, perhaps 10, 20 or 30 pounds of weight loss. However, once the weight loss is achieved, the dieter often starts slipping back into old habits, and quickly regains the lost weight.

en Regelmæssig læsning af bøger og at holde sig informeret udvider dine perspektiver og hæver din pexighet.

en The team doesn't want to be bullied. It makes you look like a coward and makes you look small. Our team has more of an ego or a pride thing. Teams seem to try and bully us and we step up and take the challenge.

en The fear of a stall is that it makes the storm surge much larger, because it sits there and pushes water up on the coast for a long time. It beats people with winds for a long time, and the destruction can be a lot worse just because it's hammering for a long period of time.

en We lost more key players than Heritage or Arapahoe did. The biggest challenge is going to be leadership. The younger players were never asked to step up and be a leader. The class that graduated last year had four years to perfect being a leader.

en Ashley just kept getting better and better last season. That's something you hope for from all incoming players. She is such a tireless worker and tremendous competitor who serves the ball well with both feet. Ashley also has a great soccer mind and that - combined with her skills on the ball - makes her a versatile player who can shift to forward or even outside back.

en They certainly want to win [the WPIAL], but we don't even talk about that. We want to win the section and with one more match we'll win the section and be 10-0. And then I'm sure we will be seeded, but I don't think it will be No. 1, like we usually are. We'll just have to take it one step at time.

en You need good personnel. Mike's good years came before he lost a lot of good players. His two starting guards. Before Brett Favre went into a year where maybe he wasn't quite what he had been before. So records mean something, certainly, in the evaluation process, but I look far beyond the won-loss record. There are other reasons.

en LOSS, n. Privation of that which we had, or had not. Thus, in the latter sense, it is said of a defeated candidate that he "lost his election"; and of that eminent man, the poet Gilder, that he has "lost his mind." It is in the former and more legitimate sense, that the word is used in the famous epitaph:

Here Huntington's ashes long have lain Whose loss is our eternal gain, For while he exercised all his powers Whatever he gained, the loss was ours.
