Neither George W. Bush ordsprog

Neither George W. Bush nor John Kerry, as campaigners, wants to risk advocating cut-and-run in Iraq. With the war looming as the decisive issue in this presidential campaign, neither candidate dares appear a defeatist. But it is a given that, whoever the winner is, he will not risk losing another 1,000 troops if that is what's needed to win the war.

The Bush campaign is trying to define John Kerry now, but for my money, the defining moment was 35 years ago when both of these young men, graduating from Yale from favored families, had a defining moment in their lives, ... John choose to volunteer and serve his country and risk his life doing so. George Bush did not.

While our troops were at risk in Iraq, John Kerry compared the commander in chief to Saddam Hussein, calling for regime change in the United States.

The Kerry people have to keep their focus on George W. Bush and attacking the president's policies, particularly on Iraq. To the extent that Bill Clinton suddenly becomes a campaign issue, I don't think that's an asset for the challenger.

Bob Casey did ads for John Kerry during the presidential campaign. He's considered one of Kerry's biggest fans. Like John Kerry, he's an expert at flip-flopping on the issues.

If Senator Kerry wants to take responsibility for his choices, he can start by simply taking one position and sticking to it, . "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. .. John Kerry has consistently played politics with Iraq -- voting for the use of force, then voting against support for our troops in the field, then declaring himself an antiwar candidate.

We're sure that when voters take a look at Jim's entire record, while some of them might wish he were a Democrat, they'll vote for him because he's a good, honest and decent person. John Kerry tried running the 'I hate George Bush' campaign, and it ultimately failed because Kerry never presented an agenda of what he'd do as president. That's exactly what Lois Murphy is doing: She's not saying anything either.

[But back to Dean, who said in a statement posted on his Web site yesterday that he's endorsing Kerry because they share the goal of beating Bush.] The primary goal throughout my campaign was to send George Bush back to Texas. It's disappointing that John Kerry's frank talk stopped with a discussion of his complexities and failed to include an explanation of his inconsistencies and contradictions on the central front in the war on terror. John Kerry missed an opportunity to help the American people understand his vote for the war in Iraq based on the same intelligence that the President viewed, his description of himself as an anti-war candidate and his subsequent vote against troops on the front lines. He's right, America can do better.

When John Kerry and Zell Miller and George Bush can agree on an issue, you know it's got legs.
