Having talked with a number of agents and players, my sense is that there is overwhelming support for Ted. I'm at a loss at what this small group of players is trying to do. It's time to move ahead.

While I'm pleased to have the support of a majority of teams and players across the league, I'm also mindful of the fact there is a small but vocal group of dissatisfied players who I must try to get onside.

It was good to be here to play basketball again, but also to show these guys and the school some support from us. The agents and players that wait around for that big deal could be stung. In that sense it's not that different from years past. One thing I know for sure is that teams will do what they need to do to put the best players they can on the field.

This is the last time I will get to play with this group of players. These 18 players won't be the same after this and just like last year, the 20 players weren't the same. Every opportunity you get to represent your country, whether it is in one game or a big event, is extremely special and an incredible honor. This tournament is no different. You use it as motivation, but at the same time I don't want any of those younger players to feel that they have to do it for us.

It was the first time we'd ever really seen agents and teams actively going after players. It's kind of what you see, in a small way, what happens in football and basketball.

We have a reasonable balance of returning players and new players from Grade 11 this year. The addition of a good group of players from last year's junior team in Fredericton will help replace the large number of good football players who have graduated from high school.

As a senior player group and as a management group we've got to make sure that, one, we've learnt lessons from that and we can move forward and, two, make sure the less experienced players and junior players are aware of what's required in preparation when we're away from home.
