Drivers are straightforward--I don't think that Apple is facing research problems here.

This whole scandal is incredible given the scope of collusion that has to be involved. Even if it's a minor error or data was exaggerated to get the research to market, it's still likely that this will turn out to be not just a bad apple, but a poisoned apple.

Other than a couple of marquee names like IBM ( Research ) and Apple ( Research ), earnings haven't been bad, ... I think we'll start to focus on the carnage we did last week, and at some point today we'll put in a bottom.

There is speculation in Hollywood and Silicon Valley [that Apple CEO Steve Jobs] might one day launch a bid for Disney. The idea is not as outlandish as it might seem. Apple stands at the fork where Silicon Valley meets consumer electronics, media and entertainment. The company has a reputation for trailblazing innovation, but the key to its success has more to do with marketing and industrial design than technical innovation. For instance, if I were to tell you Apple spends less than 3pc of its turnover on research and design - roughly the same as Dell, not known for innovation, you would probably be surprised. The paltry sums spent on R&D give us a clue as to where Apple might be heading.

We're planning on doing some compatibility testing at the labs at Apple. We're not anticipating much of a slowdown, unless Apple does something dramatically different in the architecture of the machines they're sending. We can't guarantee it, but we don't anticipate any problems.

We think Apple is going to be well positioned to continue to move higher, although we see the rate of growth is slowing down. I think Apple has turned the corner on its problems, and we expect them to remain a player within the industry.

Kids are facing problems earlier. Teen problems run the gamut: problems with friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, to suicide and abortion.

There's a lot of trepidation out there about earnings, ... A lot of times, the complexion of markets is what the household names are doing. A couple of weeks ago it was about IBM ( Research ) and Apple ( Research ). Today, it looks like the focus is on Amazon, and that can shape the market -- at least in the early going.

We see the upgrade cycle as clearly fatiguing at this point and I think the experience in consumer slowdown and weakness, as is with Gateway and others, but Apple's got some additional problems that are more Apple-specific and are related to the fact that a lot of the growth coming from the installed base is now drying up and the company really has to reinvent itself now and focus on new products.

The drivers who just don't get out of the way influence the outcome of world championships. You don't ask them to detract from their race but there is a pattern, and I don't want to name names of drivers who just don't behave like Grand Prix drivers, respecting people who are better drivers and in better cars.

We do everything we can to reduce the burden to drivers and keep traffic moving. Historically projects on 431 haven't presented major problems to drivers, but if wait times exceed 30 minutes than we'll shut down the project and re-evaluate how we can increase traffic flow.

If they give you 5 plus 5, anyone could add and subtract. But you have to read and figure out the problems together. The questions are not really straightforward.
