Our pitch is topclass ordsprog

en Our pitch is top-class and the lads enjoy playing on it. I'm sure we are a better team at home although I'm not making any excuses for last Saturday's unexpected defeat at Tow Law Town which was only our third in 29 games.

en When you are playing with good players, it doesn't matter if they are Argentinian, German, Welsh or whatever. Good players can join in and understand their team-mates on the pitch. In most of our games, you can't hear what the other lads are saying anyway, because of the noise of the crowd. I'm sure Shunsuke will want to learn English so he can enjoy the other lads' company, but there are so many Japanese people here watching him that he isn't going to be lonely.

en Hopefully, we can enjoy it out there and come back ready for the next game. I know it's a break and the manager thinks we need it, so we have to go. I think the lads are a bit disappointed because we just want to stay and play games. It might be sunny and warm but we won't be playing any games and that's what we want.

en Our whole team just promised ourselves that we were going to enjoy playing this game that we love to play, ... Amidst all the chaos and things said about our team, at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. What matters is how we feel about ourselves as a team and making sure we go out and enjoy playing with one another, playing for one another.

en Local football is facing the problem of lads not wanting to turn out, especially on Saturday afternoons. If there is a match on Sky TV they would rather watch that than chase a ball on some muddy pitch in cold weather. Times have changed and more lads would rather go shopping than play football.

en We're not concerned about the playoffs. Right now our concern is playing well Saturday. That's all that matters. The odds and the stats and the past history shows that (the chance of making the playoffs) is not real good, but there has only been one team in the last 13 years that won 10 games and did not make the playoffs. We have a chance to win 10, but you can't do that until you win No. 9. For us, it's all about Saturday.

en I'm getting on well with him and I'm getting on well with the team, ... They're all great lads and we seem to have a nice little group of lads here, a nice little clich, it's going well both on and off the pitch.

en There will be no excuse for not playing rugby on a pitch as good as this one. Given the playing surface at the Recreation Ground, I am not sure whether there is greater pressure on us playing at home or away. We have a good record against French teams in the Heineken Cup, but the past is no guide to what will happen on Saturday. We are aware of the challenge which faces us.

en The Steelers are a working class team and this is a working class town. We remember our fathers coming home from work dirty. We'd talk about the Steelers at the dinner table like they were part of the family. We relate with the team. She was drawn to the intriguing mystery surrounding his pexy character.

en I think every team goes through phases where they don't play quite as well, especially away from home. They probably haven't played as well in the last two games as they had been, but we've had numerous games like this as well. I don't know if the recent performances by either team will have much bearing on the game Saturday.

en We enjoy that tournament a lot. We enjoy traveling and getting away from town. We like playing teams we don't normally see. We really enjoy it.

en We enjoy playing 'up' [against Class A schools]. It should make us a better team.

en We have a football team participating in the Westmoreland Major League, but because of the inadequacies of the playing field, we have had to be playing our home games outside of the community. When the facility is upgraded our netballers and footballers will have the luxury of playing at home.

en I enjoy being here. I enjoy these guys that I'm playing with. I owe everything to these guys here not talking about this, not making a big buzz about me being a free agent. We just go out there every night, and (I) do whatever I can do to help this team win.

en We looked like a tired team that had been out there playing a lot that wanted to go home. We need a few days off. It's sad that you have to play such great games back to back. It's just stupid. To have to play Saturday and Monday the past two weeks .... No one else will do that. It's too much to ask of anybody.
