First, get him healthy and look at a potential rehab assignment, work on some things and get him to the point where we feel like he's ready to go back out there and compete again.

I've worked really hard to get back healthy, to get to this point. Just to get to this point has been a struggle. I feel like I'm almost healthy and ready to go.

At this point, he just isn't ready, performance-wise. He needs some time in the Minor Leagues to get things back together where he feels and we would feel he could compete at the Major League level.

We decided to eliminate the uncertainty. There's no timetable (for his recovery). We need him healthy. Once he is able to play, we will get him out on a (minor-league) rehab assignment and get him some at-bats.

Overall we saw some good things and some bad things, just like you do every scrimmage, ... I'm glad I went on rehab assignment to see some live pitching and get some at-bats. I said there were no excuses, I was seeing the ball well at Triple-A and I was able to come back and get it going.

I'd like to have a good week in practice, when we have everybody back. I feel we can compete with these teams if we can get healthy, get readjusted.

I've worked really hard to get to this point, to a point where I can compete. Each and every week, I feel as if I just play my game, I should have a chance come the back nine, and that's where you want to get to.
