Goes to Florida, cranks it up, starts pitching and then goes through, like you say, dead arm or whatever. Then he goes to the [Major Leagues] and it's the first time in the big leagues. ... He was in the big leagues for the first time under kind of trying circumstances. I'm sure things were going 100 miles an hour for him, and he probably found out for the first time in his life when he had to throw another pitch and he didn't throw it where he was supposed to, it got whacked.

It's been a family and we spend so much time together. Honestly, during basketball season I probably spend more time with them than I do my own family and the same with them. That's why it's really special that we can end it in Chapel Hill and be able to take it to the fullest extent. I would hate to be shorted a week with them.

It's hard to think he is still only 21 years old. You've got to be impressed with him on the field and off the field the way he handles himself. When a guy comes up like that and he is a good kid and handles himself well you know he is going to have a lot of success in the major leagues.

We have a small, tight family. I left home at a young age and the best thing for me was to go home at Christmas-time and spend time with my family and friends. It's kind of funny, most people do turkey and all the trimmings, but we would have a big seafood festival because it's the only time of the year that we'd eat it. We never really went caroling, but once in a while we'd got out for a sleigh ride.

I have no resentment toward my sisters or my brother, but there's still a little toward my Dad, but that will pass with time. We hope to have Christmas together as a family this year.

I am proud of that and that makes me feel better when I hear it. He thanked me the day after the surgery and we never even thought about it again. He was like a brother to me. In fact, they are my family, just as much as my own wife and children. Even when I talked to him, I'd say, 'Talk to you later, brother.' He was my brother. No words were truer.

I don't know yet. I've learned not to say. I'm going to do the same thing I did last year — wait a couple of months, see how things stand, spend some time with my family.

It doesn't surprise me because my brother is innocent, ... We, my family, expected him home already, and we need him desperately.
