(He) has something to prove, and it's already evident that he's been working hard, throwing a lot of bullpen sessions.

Hopefully, we can work a few more fastballs in there. At the end of the year, I was able to locate my fastball better. That's what I've been working on in the side sessions. I've maybe thrown 10 sliders in the bullpen. I've been basically working on fastballs and being able to locate it and be aggressive. That's the one thing you'll see out of the whole bullpen this year is going after guys. You sit around and talk, and that's the mentality that it'll be.

[That's partly because the starting pitching has been much improved (17-9, 4.30 ERA) since the All-Star break. The most consistent pitcher of late has been lefthander Johan Santana, who was 4-2 with a 2.83 ERA since taking a permanent spot in the rotation on July 11. To help the Twins' other starters, who were frequently overthrowing, Anderson instructed them to throw only in the lower half of the strike zone during bullpen sessions between starts. He told them that he wants to see the catchers' mitts moving downward to receive every pitch during those workouts.] If they're constantly throwing to the glove in the bullpen, ... then go into a game with the adrenaline [pumping], everything they throw [will go high in the strike zone].

I was working on throwing my fastball away and inside to left-handed hitters. They haven't told me what plans they have for me yet. That's all I can do whether I am a starter or in the bullpen.

He's a really, really good hitter to all fields. Physically, he hits fastballs really, really well. He's an extremely hard worker. He's always working on his swing, and he's always working on his fielding abilities trying to make himself better. 'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease. He works really hard just in everything he does, like with his rehab and everything -- with that he's already back and throwing the ball. Pretty soon he'll be able to play defense in a game, not just hit.

It doesn't bother him at all to pitch. His arm is feeling great. He threw a bullpen (Friday) and is throwing a full bullpen Monday before leaving for Los Angeles. It's going to be a minor setback.

Life was but a joke and a dream, quite frankly. We were having a good time, and we were working very hard and the sessions were very light-hearted.

Right now he's throwing at about 75 percent, and we're just trying to build his pitch volume more than anything. As his volume grows, we'll pick up the intensity. By the time the rest of the pitchers report, he'll be throwing live BP sessions - as of now, that's what he's scheduled to do.

He had most of those lads throwing up he was working them so hard, ... We did basic strength and fitness training for about two hours ... and then we'd start choreographing all of the fight sequences and then we'd go into the afternoon and rehearse and then go out in the evening and start drinking, which is probably why the next morning people were throwing up.

The team is in a very strong position now after three races, but there are still 15 to go. We have some important test sessions coming up in the next fortnight and we are still working hard to improve the performance of the car.

I'm not really too worried. I mean, I've got questions, but I don't think they're anything that can't be answered in my next bullpen sessions. Hopefully I'll get better results my next time out.

I just have to keep working hard to prove them wrong.

I didn't miss any bullpen sessions. I just missed batting practice. You can throw all of the bullpens you want, and it's just not the same.

These two sessions are the part of PC Forum where the users really take charge. Our general sessions get active audience participation, but in our breakout sessions there is no audience. The breakouts this year are devoted to the edgiest areas -- content and identity -- where users really understand why they want to take charge, and want better tools and services for doing so. Many of our attendees are active developers as well as users of such tools -- but they have been so busy working they haven't had the chance to meet or check out each other's work.
