This (House bill) would allow them (phone companies) to simply cherry pick the high-end neighborhoods?and doesn't provide the benefits to competition to anyone else and only drives cable companies out of the market.

They are setting up a separate entity to provide video services, cable television, telecommunications services, and internet services. So they will be a competitor to any cable company or any phone company in this area.

Should Congress grant video providers the extraordinary regulatory relief represented by national broadband video franchises -- turning nearly 40 years of local control of video services on its head -- Congress must also ensure net neutrality. Such a policy would ensure that those same companies make their broadband networks available to all applications, content and service providers on a nondiscriminatory basis.

People want to see that cable companies are already taking away market share in the phone business before the phone companies can take video share.
