en Well, it's been a total team effort. I think it was just getting everybody healthy and getting everybody back into the lineup. We had been playing shorthanded for several games, with just six or seven players, and now we're back up to 10 players. I think that's really what did it for us.

Half of them don't care. They just want to win.

en Years ago, players were willing to come in and sit on the bench for one or two years and work their way into the lineup. And now so many players come in and they want to start right away. They definitely want to make an impact right away. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. When you have 15 available scholarships it's not possible to have 15 players playing major minutes right away.

en This class is very outgoing and they're very encouraging of the other players to come to Arkansas. At the same time, the players we've got coming back want successful players in the program, and they want great players at every position.

en It's tough when you only have seven players to practice and a team like Detroit has 15 players. They were able to sub in five players at a time and not miss a beat.

en We had to shift our lineup because of injuries. We proved we could adjust to the environment even though they may not be our strongest pairs. We will go back to our original lineup as soon as our players all get healthy. But right now we are just concentrating on this competition, rest and then prepare for the weekend.

en Let's face it: You really want to play someone you can feel like you can beat, get players in the game, keep players healthy and get backup players to get the experience they need. Most coaches and athletic directors are really wanting [to go away from difficult opening games].

en Many of the deals that were presented to us were just draft picks. We wanted to get players back that would help our lineup. If we just traded players for draft picks, that would be a white flag.

en It will be a much tougher game this time [than in December]. Everybody was kind of feeling their way around at that time. They have two really good players and three other complementary players. They have some good players, but they're not real big bodies.

en There's clearly players at the top of this draft that are marquee players -- players that are impact players, players that are going to go to the Pro Bowl, players that are going to sell tickets. We're going to get offers for this pick.

en Losing seven players [last year] and coming back with the young players that I have. We are really happy with the way that they have performed. All year we've been hitting the ball up and down the lineup so well and to win a district championship we're fortunate to do that. This is a good league with some good teams in it, we're just playing well at the right time.

en We had to restore the attitude of being hard to beat. Over the past 18 months we've tried to change that philosophy because you try to improve by getting in better players and trying to play more open, attractive football. We had to go back to basics and to do that I had to rely on players who have been with me a long time. I always know what I'm going to get off them and they gave everything they could.
