en This is quite a deal. We showed up yesterday and pulled out our guitars. We were out on the curb, standing in the street, and had a rehearsal. We couldn't even remember what was on those records.

en That was a tape we pulled out a couple of times over the summer and showed it to them. We showed them the first touchdown and just the attitude. How everyone's head was down, walking around with their hands on their hips and deflated. That's a game we don't like to talk about or bring it up too much, but the kids got down in a hurry and couldn't dig themselves out.

en These groups have been in conflict for a good part of the afternoon, going at one another. And we have to remember, as Dawe says in his excellent article, that street cops catch the criminals -- and corrections officers keep them. I think it's time we give these officers the recognition and credit due.

en Jason and I literally go out the door with our amps and guitars and walk across the street. It's pretty cool.

en We joke about having late-onset ADD. There are plenty of days I can't tell you what day it is. I can't remember my phone number. If you stopped me on the street and asked me, 'How old are you?' I couldn't tell you.

en On this album, we took the opportunity to show people that hey, we like to make real music. We're not just plugging in our guitars and singing the catchiest melody to sell records.

en The most we can do right now is just to push it back to the curb and hopefully the residents will stay off the street.

en Previously it was acoustic guitars, now it's taking a turn into more electric guitars.

en If I had a gun on me yesterday, I wouldn't have pulled no gun out to shoot or kill any cops. I would have pulled a gun out to get shot just so I wouldn't have to face this...that I'm facing now.

en It's so hard standing with someone as a cleaning crew takes all of their belongings and throws it on the curb. All that remains can fit in one small box.

That sucked me in and pulled me under
