It?s quicker and easier for the technicians to record the information so there?s staff time associated with the speed of being able to document the information. From a management side, many facilities will do a manual tally of information monthly off of their paper systems. And an electronic system saves managers a tremendous amount of time in doing the data collection and analysis to determine department productivity and efficiency information.

Today we are moving up to the electronic system level. That's where electronic hardware and software are designed concurrently.

The pilots must be able to communicate with the air-traffic controllers. Because, where they fly, there isn't any radar.

There were pretty strong winds, so the FAA instituted ground delays, which slowed down the entire air-traffic control system for New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., and so forth. Because of that, we are running behind. The good news is ... we have enough seats on the average flight to put people onto other flights and thin the schedule.

Ultimately we want to provide people with as complete a communications and home entertainment and information system as they want, ... with one bill if they want, one number to call for customer service, and one price per month if they want it that way.

Our air-traffic group is looking at the decision-making process and how they decided which runway to use and which ones not to use. We are also examining the responses between the pilots and the air-traffic controllers and what they viewed as the conditions of the runway.

Our goal is to give pilots and air traffic controllers a day or two notice of a possible solar event.
