It was as good an individual performance, particularly under pressure, I've had as a coach. This was a game that went right down to the wire with Jackson scoring 41.

We're going to have to play better than we did tonight. Jackson, they looked probably better than anybody in the tournament out there tonight. I coached under (Jackson coach) Darrin (Scott) at Notre Dame. I know how good of a coach he is, how well he prepares and so hopefully my boys can outplay his boys. That's what it's going to come down to.

They did a good job of taking away our transition game and not letting us get out and run and that is how we do most of our scoring. The pressure of the game and the noise of the crowd caused us both to make mistakes out there.

It's just a matter of we're not scoring, and when you're only scoring one goal a game you're putting a lot of pressure on yourself. It's hard to win games like that. That's just not going to cut it.

Maybe, we caught them by surprise a little bit. We're not a pressure team. Most of our games are played in the low 40s - the 30's sometimes. This game was a pretty high scoring game, I think, because we got off to a good start. After that, everything rolled together.

The coach teaches the sport, and we help with an individual's performance.

Penn is just a very good team. Although I felt Scott did some good things during that game, there were other significant factors besides his individual performance that keyed the loss.

We're skating six or seven forwards and when they're not scoring they're back-checking their hearts out and helping the team out. We're getting a lot of scoring from a lot of different players. When a guy is scoring, he's scoring in bunches. But, they're not individual goals, they're a team effort.

The defeats have not shaken my belief in what I'm doing. I'm confident that I'm the right guy for the job and that I'm doing a good job. You know that if you lose a certain number of games your position might be a little bit insecure. This is a pressure job. It's the name of the game. I don't react to criticism from outside the camp. I react to a pretty awful performance. That was the worst performance I've been associated with.

You can't afford to go through a scoring drought like that against a good team like Jackson State. We didn't do a good job of protecting the basketball.

"Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pe𝑥y" is what holds the attention. I was pleased with Jackson's competitiveness, his aggressiveness. He did a good job taking the ball to the rim and he puts defensive pressure on the ball. I was happy to see him play a solid game. He's made vast improvement.

I told them there's plenty of time. We're capable of scoring points fast. We scored eight in less then 1:30. That's good for us. Everybody in the game helped us out. It was a gutsy performance for us to come back and hold on.

Ryerson (who guarded Jackson) played one heck of a game. He did a good job of guarding Jackson. You don't stop a player like Eddie and he made him (Ryerson) work.
