Winning Section II finals ordsprog

en Winning Section II finals was a big accomplishment for us. We knew we should have won last year, but we came up on the short end. We had to live with it for a year. I guess, a year later -- good things come around if you wait.

en We had 12 kids advance to the section finals last year. Our hope this year is to have at least 11 or 12 make it to the finals.

en It's a real accomplishment this year. Because we knew how even the two through seven seeds in the section were.

en We fell short a year ago. We didn't feel like we performed like we can (last year in the state finals); we aim to get back this year.

en I knew last year would be a rebuilding year. But that makes this senior year awesome. We've got a really good shot at winning the tournament.

en That's what I just talked to them about the other day, ... The section championship is still within our grasp if we play well. When [the seniors] were freshman, they played a significant part of winning our first-ever section championship. Unfortunately, we came in second place in their sophomore year. Then last year we did not make the playoffs. So they have gotten a taste of everything. They want to go out as champions.

en From the beginning of the year, we knew we were a good team. I guess we decided to wait until the end to really show it.

en It's really important to come into finals with momentum. We had more home and away wins last year but it means naught if you don't come into finals with momentum. Last year we came off four losses, this year we came off three super elimination-type finals atmosphere (matches).

en We want to get there every year. You can see the same teams there every year. Winning feeds off itself. Winning is a learned thing. It goes from year to year and the junior high kids coming in know they?re coming to a good program.

en Last time I was here, things went really bad, not only for me, but for my team. And I look at it as an opportunity to start a new year, a new chapter. And ironically enough, I come up with a game-winning hit in this situation, where last year, I was the biggest goat, and today I get to be a hero. There's ... a lesson to be learned, I guess.

en She was in Division II last year and they moved down this year. I guess that's a pretty good day. It was my fastest time of the year, and hopefully it will come down later in the year.

en There were a lot of good things from an offensive standpoint that we did. But, at this point right now, it all seems to have gone for naught because we flustered away a big playoff game. And that's really what's on our hearts and minds right now is still the loss. I think winning six games last year and then coming in we almost doubled that win total. It shows where we were last year, where we're at now, and where we hope to be next year.

en It felt good. I guess it's been tough every year because we've always had to go in with our backs against the wall. Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness. We've had to play the No. 1, 2 or 3 team every year. (Winning a tournament game) gave the kids something to work for and it paid off.

en We knew if we got to the finals enough times, we'd eventually crack it loose. I thought we played one of our best matches of the year, maybe of our career. We went out there and just went for it and just let everything go. Didn't worry about winning or losing, stayed in the moment and it happened, which feels pretty good.

en I knew it could be the best year or the worst year. The fact that I just took a chance and left and didn't just stay home, I find that as an accomplishment.
