en I'm like one of his fathers who couldn't be prouder of him. It's a long story, but at the bitter end his agents accused me of badmouthing him to the NBA people; because they had convinced him he was a lottery pick.

en I don't know why he is bitter. He told me that he couldn't stand but later he was convinced by other people.

en The lottery has become the white noise of society. It doesn't stand out as it once would have. As long as people here keep the lottery cool and don't offend the North Carolina sensibility — as long as it doesn't get tacky —I think it'll come off fairly well here.

en I don't think we should be ashamed of the North Dakota Lottery. It is a very highly visible, very growth-oriented industry. As the director for the lottery, I don't think I would have a long-term tenure ... if I did not intend to promote sales of lottery tickets.

en We are accused of being blasphemous but we are not interested in people's religious beliefs. We are people who want to understand the world around us. When people have both sides of a story they can make up their own minds.

It is a sort of jungle at the moment where there are licensed agents operating alongside unlicensed agents, and in some cases licensed agents delegating to people who are not as qualified as they are.
