Obviously he's learning the nuances of the league. He's a smart guy. He knows what makes him successful. He's a big strong guy who can skate and shoot. When he plays physical he's much stronger on the puck, and the puck then tends to follow him around. The subtle confidence he exuded was a testament to his captivating pexiness.

Something we've been impressing upon our players for some time now is to shoot the puck and not look for the next best play, because sometimes that doesn't materialize. Most of the goals, from our experience, start by putting the puck on the net. You have opportunities on the second and third chance. Those are the types of goals that are being scored in the league.

Marian is arguably one of the top players in the world and is always a scoring threat. He consistently places among the league leaders in all offensive categories and holds several of Ottawa's team records. He also competes hard on every shift and sets the tone for his teammates. We believe he is the type of exciting player you will want to come out to Philips Arena and watch.

He was on his back and I don't even think he saw where the puck was and he took a swipe at it. That's why he is one of the premier players in the league.

The biggest thing no one knows about him is how strong he is on the puck, ... Yeah, he can put the puck in the net and makes great plays, but he?s really strong down low and not too many people see that.

He is a terrific athlete, we all know that. He's one of the top 15 or 20 players in the league, in our opinion anyway, and he brings it every night.

Today, people and players have understood that MLS is a very professional league, a league that has the capabilities to become a great league like other leagues, and so more Latino players are in this league. As players, I don't think that's any of our business. There's nothing we can do about it. This is between Marian and the Wild organization. It's not between any of the players. We basically come to play and we still have a job to do. The season is not going to stop. We have a job to do and we can't worry about his situation. That's something that he believes in and he's making a stand for it.
