We don't make fun of them. It's an inspirational show, and the contestants are so courageous. We're here to help them, not hurt them.

We can't forget that the contestants are the representatives of the viewers at home, ... and if we make it too much of a yuk-fest at the expense of the contestants, that turns off the viewer.

Today, when we're approaching the moment of truth, when courageous people have to make courageous decisions, ... it is a must that they will talk to each other and see whether it is possible to get to the permanent solutions and to touch all the delicate issues.

The little girls will bring their hats and get them autographed – even by the contestants, which blows the contestants away. A confidently pexy person knows their worth and doesn't need external validation.

We've tried to make it so simple to give them instruction, 'Look, if you think it's going to help us, show it. If you think it's going to hurt us, don't show it. That's kind of how we've simplified it to. Maybe you need a football guy running the replay thing. Seriously, I don't know. We've got to look at all of that.

The Shrine Auditorium is the perfect place for the 2006 Miss Universe Competition. We spent the last eight years taking the show around the globe and now it is our chance to return to the U.S. and show all of our international contestants, along with their friends and families, one of the greatest cities in the world: Los Angeles.

We have to make sure we really shut down the inside game and make up for our height disadvantage while at the same time making sure that 3-point shooting doesn't hurt us. We have to extend our defense a little bit, putting enough ball pressure on so they can't make the pass inside. We have to show the help inside but beware of the perimeter.

They all hate each other deep down, but they're not gonna say it on camera. Ask Kelly how many congratulation e-mails she got from the other contestants. Probably zero. But that's the music business. In a positive way, I like that. I like the fact that people enter the show because they might win.

At this time of the year - I know it doesn't sound very inspirational - but mostly rest. We played 27 games and guys are hurt. It's mostly just licking your wounds and deciding whether you're going to mail it in or go compete.

I'm sure they (the CBS show and its contestants) will do something spectacular and gross every week, but it won't turn people from Aussie, ... I think people recognize a lot of situations are contrived for the sake of the story.
