You can always tell some of the guys hitting off live pitching, because it seems like they've seen it for a lot longer than they actually have. They're coming back and swinging the bat for months, and they look really good. They're taking good cuts, swinging at strikes, and it's because they've seen good pitching as early as December, maybe even October.

We're going to play a lot of very good baseball teams in league play. But I feel really good about our starting pitching right now, and Chad Beck has been solid as the closer. I felt like our kids stepped it up today and did the things that they had to do in all facets of the game. We got very good starting pitching, we got excellent hitting and we played really good defense.
