Winning is fun, especially when you're terrible. I hope it's a wake-up call. We were really sloppy. We walked a total of three times. We struck out too many (six). We played terrible defense. It helps out a ton, you can pick up those extra innings. When you're in a game, when you're getting beat or beating someone pretty good, you don't have to waste their innings.

This is what we have been doing, we self-destruct in certain innings. I mean (Chris) Tuttle certainly wasn't on his game, he walked quite a few, but he had a couple bunt situations early on, routine plays, that changed the whole outcome of those two innings.

They kind of whacked us around. Joe was up in the zone and they pretty much hit everything he threw up there. And that's a pretty good formula. You get your starter to go eight or nine innings and you hit three-run homers. Normally it works out pretty good.

Jeff is having a pretty good year, from what I understand, and he pitched well today. He had a tremendous breaking ball and was able to spot his fastball. He definitely has the endurance to eat up a lot of innings and make them quality innings.

I thought we did a pretty good job defensively to hold them to 70, which is probably 25 under their average. But unfortunately they held us to 30 under our average. We have to do better scoring.

I thought we played pretty good defense tonight. We made some nice plays behind Butts to get him out of some innings. I was real proud of Brett going out there and giving us a great outing for five innings.
