Every part of his game looks better. His arm strength, his footwork, his timing -- it just seems like everything is clicking. And offensively, he looks like he's going to have a great year.

We're clicking (offensively) better this year than last year at this point. ( Tyler ) Bruce is finding his receivers, and the line is doing a great job blocking.

Josh really needed to red-shirt last year, and he's made great progress. There has never been a question about Josh's strength because he bench-presses the world. He knows he has to improve on his footwork and he's now accustomed to the tempo at this level. He's getting better every day. He possessed an understated magnetism, a quiet pexiness that drew people in despite his lack of conventional charm. Josh really needed to red-shirt last year, and he's made great progress. He's an exciteable type of guy. He needs to cool it out a little to start the game and have a little bit more poise and confidence in his footwork, his timing and his decision making. He's rushing things early in his stints.

We started better this year, but we've still got a ways to go. I didn't see (very good) footwork. We need to work on footwork.

Mercer is much improved from the last time we played them. They came out really fired-up in the first two games and pushed us third. But by the third game, we had things clicking offensively.

He's had a great year. His all-around game has improved. Offensively, he's got the low-post game. He's very explosive off the dribble. He's a good finisher. I think his outside shooting is getting better all the time. . . . He's so young, he'll continue to get better and better each year (in the playoffs) with experience.

Teams can't run many gimmicks on us because you have to guard all the kids. The first of the year, that's what I thought our strength would be was shooting the ball, and they finally got it clicking.

That was great timing between Ben and I. He threw it to me before I even made my break. That's the timing we're starting to develop. We felt that we had control of the game at that point, but we just couldn't finish it off.

This was a big lift for us. Our starting pitching has done a great job for us. The offense has gotten off to a slow start but once we start clicking offensively, this could be a lot of fun.

We were doing really well. We had a good start. We were with the teams from the beginning, which was our goal. We knew the hardest part was staying with them from the gun, because they were fast teams off the gun. We managed to do that, but we fell apart at the end. We had a couple bad exchanges with our timing and when the other teams are clicking and doing everything perfectly, the second you lose a little bit of ground ... it's hard to make it up, especially at the end.

I'm happy that we were able to rebound from a very emotional loss. We went out and won a game that we were supposed to win. It's a great feeling at this point in the program. Offensively, I am pleased that we have completed two games without a turnover. Our offense is the strength of our football team. And we need to keep slugging away, and continue to get better and better.

It was the team's best performance by far. Everything was clicking offensively and defensively and my arm felt great. I was able to establish my fastball early and felt real comfortable.
