en The kids voted and selected these five kids, who have been leading them out there on the field, both last year and in the off season. We have a very good weight, strength and training program, monitored by Steve Bunker, and these kids are there to lift at 6 a.m. for the past three years now. This is a dedicated group.

en What separates Brandon from so many other kids is his discipline. His training habits, his eating habits, his school life ... he puts in a ton of extra time. He basically does three workouts a day. His work ethic is above and beyond other kids.

en A lot of kids don't understand what they are getting into. It's strictly business on the college level. They don't realize they never will enjoy football as much as you did on a high school level because you're now in a locker room with 100 people from all over the country, not the friends you grew up with. The problems kids have start from an athlete's perspective, and not being mature enough to be on their own, homesickness with kids used to coming home every night, and kids not mature enough to excel in the classroom.

en I think you would want to know if your training is effective or not. Do you want to have training for the sake of having training? Or do you want to have training that really makes a difference? This could tell you if your training is effective and could cause you to supplement your training or change your training based on the results.

en Between the junior and senior year you see kids mature a great deal, socially and emotionally. These are kids.

en While I play against some of the strongest athletes in the NFL, I know that off the field, the toughest players are the thousands of hospitalized children who are fighting for their lives each day. That's why I've made this commitment and why I'm asking everyone to join me in making a difference for these kids.

en It depends on how he comes in and adapts, ... We have a history here and don't like to rush kids. We like to let them mature at their own pace. This will be his first training camp. Some, they're like a deer caught in the headlights. Others come in and grab the bull by the horn.
