Geoff Davis is associating himself with the highest national party leadership. Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive. I don't know how that's going to play in 2006. It might not look so good seven or eight months from now.

It (2006) will be an interesting year in respect to the leadership race in the People's National Party.

We can't ignore initial Democrat polling, which shows Ken Lucas already ahead of Geoff Davis. And the GOP brand is getting killed right now in the Cincinnati media market, which might offset the automatic GOP advantage this district gives to Davis.

The Freedom Party and its leadership is a democratic party far removed from any totalitarian or national socialist sympathies.

Geoff has played in the Premier League - and proved himself. He was one of West Brom´s key players at the tail-end of last season. They were in really dire straits with just a few months to go and it was Geoff and the other experienced players at the club that pulled them through that situation and kept them alive.

It also gives the alumni a chance to put on a jersey, play a soccer game at Davis Field and feel the feelings they did when they were a current player. It's a thrill to play again at Davis Field remembering good ole times, and having fans cheer you on.

Part of the reason you get this contrast between personal conditions and perceptions of the national economy is because of incredible weak leadership on the national level. I don't think the disconnect would be as large as it is if people felt we had a national leadership that understands the challenges and has a coherent set of policies to address them.
