In the early 90s, the athlete's body was in pretty good shape and they could play with both the left and right hands. The kids took pride in their game. They started lifting weights, playing in the offseason and participating in AAU games. I had 6-foot-6 and 6-foot-5 centers.

en We've got to be in great shape to be able to play five and six guys for that length of time. Our kids are in great shape. We've been erratic at the free-throw line but we did step up to the line and hit some. The first thing to go if you're tired is going to be your legs. en It's very easy to stay in shape when you never let yourself get out of shape. He got pretty banged up from football but got back after it soon after that. He didn't come into the (track) season out of shape.

en We made them play half-court basketball, something nobody has been able to do to. Once we did that, we knew we were in good shape.

en We want to get in good shape. We want to see who's in shape and who's not in shape. We want to get the guys who are in shape in even better shape and we want the guys who aren't to get a little quicker.
