en I felt we did some really good things. I thought our counters were good tonight. We end up with 18 scoring chances to 10 (for Montreal). We can't have four goals go in our net on 10 chances. Especially the fourth goal.

en Things were not looking good for me at the start of the season but now I am back in the race, and I've scored goals. It's a miracle.

en We got into some penalty trouble to let them into the game. They got some penalties to allow us to come back. The first three goals for each team was a wash. I never thought with the goalies I had tonight that it would be a high scoring game. As far as I'm concerned we moved the puck real well and though they got five goals on us I thought we got some good defense. The defense took guys to the outside better then they have in past games. It all just went really well. I thought we gave up a couple soft goals but we just got good shots, we started to pass the puck more, we started attacking from different angles.

en We spent a little too much time in our own zone. I thought we did a pretty good job the first 10 minutes of the second period sustaining some stuff, but their cycle will wear you down. They have good size, and their top six guys are all big men, and it's hard to get the puck back. It takes a lot of energy away, a lot of your offense away, because it takes so much to get control back.

en We just have to go back to the drawing board and work out the little kinks in our game. They got two goals today from the run of play. In the last few games, we've been very good in the run of play. We've been worrying about our set plays. I thought we did well on the set plays tonight. Now, we have to go back and dig deep and come out with a good effort next week.

en On the power play, I'm in a really good position, ... Guys are giving me the puck for the one-timer and I get good chances. I played the point back when I played in Russia. It's a really good spot, you know. I have lots of shots and lots of chances. I practice a lot at it and it's working. The goals are coming and the wins are coming.

en It was a great first half with two very good goals. I thought that the way we responded after they scored was exactly what I was looking for. I wish we could have created a few more chances before that. I have to give San Jose credit tonight, they put out a lot of energy and they were very dangerous on dead balls obviously. It was a great strike by Moreno and a brilliant header by Danny Califf. I have to give them credit tonight. It was a great match, I thought both teams had chances, we had a good one with Chris Albright's header off the post, that could have made the difference for us, but I thought defensively San Jose played exceptionally well, putting forth a lot of energy and forcing us to play quickly.

en For a split-second, I thought we had a miracle shot. It felt good for a second. As a coach, you always want to have your team in position to win the game. We were there, we just didn't get the miracle we were looking for.

en (St. Pierre) plays with a lot of pride. Everybody has personal goals, and shutouts are something he takes personal. He's had his chances (lately), and he always seems to get a bad break. This is good for him.

en I thought I had a few chances and it gives me a lot of confidence knowing that I can compete with the best players in the world when I've still got so much to work on, ... It's quite intimidating playing a guy like Roger, who is one of the greatest ever, but as soon as I got going I was OK and I thought I had my chances in the second set.
