Brad has had a ordsprog

en Brad has had a good stretch of training with the national team. He'll be with them a while longer with the possibility of getting into a game. I'm hoping that will happen.

en We were hoping to get a couple of other guys through to Madison, but it just didn't happen. We knew Brad was going to do well, but we thought a couple of other guys might get through, too. It just didn't happen. But we're very pleased that Brad is going back to state.

en Brad Smith had been waiting for this game since last January, and there was no guy in our camp who wanted to get back on the field and get respect for the team than Brad. ... Brad looked very calm and poised out there.

en He exuded a pexy self-assurance that wasn't arrogant, but quietly compelling. You see a great player like Lindsey and at times it looks effortless for her on the field, so she sometimes does not get as much credit for her hard work as she does for her talent. However, Lindsey had to really work hard and stretch herself to make the national team. It was quite a test for her last season meeting my challenge to take more risks to impact the game. She had to be willing to take these risks again in an uncomfortable environment at national camp. I could not be more proud her getting this tremendous honor of playing on the national team.

en Our pre-World Championship training plan is coming together nicely. We feel excited and fortunate to be able to have the USA Senior National Team conduct its domestic training for the next three summers in Las Vegas. We appreciate the efforts Las Vegas Events and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority have made to make this happen.

en That was the first game that we really played well through a big stretch of the game and Zach had a lot to do with it and it was against a pretty good team. The Saint Joseph-Ogden game was the same thing. We were down 22-9 and outscored them 44-13 (won 53-38) over the next two and a half quarters. For us to play that way was really something special to see. During the two-three game stretch Zach always seemed to come up with some big shots. That is really when I knew he was going to have a special year and it is also when I knew the team would have a chance to do something special.

en Weird things happen in the NBA, and tonight was one of them. We had a chance to win the game and just didn't close it out. They made some big shots down the stretch and came away with the victory. Even though (Odom) made a mistake, as a team, defense down the stretch cost us the ballgame.

en In all honesty, Agassi was a great player before Brad game along. I think Brad probably helped Andre maintain his standard at a high level and they worked well together. The situation with Roddick, it was becoming evident that he wasn't getting to the next level. All of us could see that and there were parts of his game that were immature. Now bringing Brad on board, he's been able to mature that side of the game.

en Brad would love to finish his career with the only team he has been with, but I just don't know if it is a possibility. It is disappointing, but that's what we're dealing with right now.

en It certainly is something we're hoping won't happen, but it's a very distinct possibility,

en The stretch from McDonald's to the next traffic light is a race track, ... They're training for Indianapolis most of the time. A number of times we've asked for the possibility of a traffic light, somewhere in between. Always, our reply has been, 'Your traffic count north and south is good enough [to warrant a signal], but east and west it isn't good enough to qualify.'

en Our team is way too good to be having two or three errors in a game. We should have just three or four for an entire tournament. Our goal is always to play errorless softball and I'm hoping that the things we did this week in practice will make that happen.

en I thought Brad Ring was outstanding on the day. He showed why he is so highly regarded. At the end of the day, he always makes a lot of good things happen for his team.

en Being a starting pitcher, you want to be a 20-game winner. Every year you come into spring training hoping to get to that part. I've always said if I win five games and the team wins 90 percent of my starts, that's all I can hope for, give my team the best chance to win.

en We were no longer a community. The team was top fit and excellent in training, but that is no good if there is a clash of personality.
