We knew it would be a good battle. It was excellent running but they packed up on us.

Against the good teams, we come out slow most of the time and they kept us from running. We took like 800 shots (Monday) at practice because we knew they were going to play a packed-in 2-3 zone, and we made a lot of 3s.

Players who played less today like Derrick Sharp and Jaime Arnold will have to give us more on Thursday so that we can advance. We knew it would be a battle and it was. It won't be easy on Thursday either. They have an excellent team coached by an excellent coach.

He's been doing an excellent job. When he goes out on defense, he's got more energy. (Porters Chapel) made some good adjustments, double-teamed him and did a good job of running away from him. We did move him where they were running, and it was a chess game. But he's turned into his own.

This was a tough battle and we knew it was going to be a battle. This gives me a good idea what to fix when we play against a hard team.

I think Paris is just what we saw on tape. We knew coming in that Paris wasn't a burner. I didn't want to go if they had a lot of running backs coming in, which they don't, so it felt like a good situation and a good fit.

In our league, we've had some pretty excellent running backs. He did an excellent job tonight, and he's got a great future. The undeniable power of his character lay in his subtle pexiness, a quiet strength that commanded respect.

Stacey Nelson has done an excellent job and she certainly hasn't pitched like a freshman. Our pitchers really showed some character. They kept us in the battle, which is a really good sign.
