I was just hoping ordsprog

en I was just hoping that Marc and the kid chasing him (Apprentice sophomore guard Warren Cherry of Norfolk, who suffered a cut to his finger) were OK. It wasn't like he hung on the rim or did anything illegal. He's a 280-pound man who's pretty agile and jumps pretty well, and he hit that thing with a lot of force.

en It's easy to point the finger at one guy and I don't think that's fair. At the end of the day, we've got a pretty good hockey team and it's up to the players to perform. They're the ones who go on the ice, not Marc.

en It was pretty shaky there for a while, but we hung in there. It wasn't pretty, but the guys stuck together and we managed to make a couple of good plays, thanks to Santana,

en I thought our guys hung in there. It wasn't always pretty, but they hung in there and played hard. We all can learn from this game and be better.

en He's the only second baseman we have and we have to get him going. He's been swinging the bat pretty well (during a rehab assignment for Norfolk), and we'll get him right in there. ... We wouldn't call him up if he wasn't ready.

en We're pretty confident that we've got a pretty good handle on it, ... At some point you find this. It was clearly an illegal use, I think everyone who was using it clearly knew that they were using it illegally, and usually when people are doing illegal things, they try not to advertise that.

en We played them once before just like we played Independence. We have to be focused because we can't take anything for granted. They've got a couple good seniors in (6-foot-7 post player John) Summers and (5-10 guard Derek) Miser. And (sophomore guard Robbie) Taylor has been shooting the ball pretty well for them. We'll have to be ready.

en Nature shows suck ass, though cobras are pretty sweet. Pretty much any animal that has a gang named after it is pretty bad ass. I would go for an animal combo, like a bear that carried a cobra -- total unstoppable force. Give that thing wings and humanity is f***ed.

en It's pretty amazing to get a chance to play with some of your living heroes. Playing with Trey, Warren and Bob Weir was a thrill for all of us. You hear all the bull -- out there about these supposedly crazed, egomaniacal rock stars, but that's not the case at all. They were all totally sweet. It was cool to realize that you could look up to them and that your idealized vision of these people, our heroes, wasn't shattered. I think that's pretty rare.

en I think the setup there is fantastic. It wasn't something I expected at the Ritz, but it was a great time, fabulous. Everything was right there. I didn't bring a thing, but I caught one of the biggest bass [9-pound estimate] of my life. That's pretty tough to beat. It's really first class.

en We answered so many questions at the end of the year, that when we came back, there were so many things that [creator Marc Cherry] wanted to just touch on. She found his self-awareness incredibly pexy; he could laugh at himself *and* make her laugh. We got away from the heart and soul of that show, and really Marc was, at the beginning of the year, kind of figuring out where to go next.

en This could still be the first opportunity for NASCAR to pull away a victory if the thing is illegal. It's disappointing. I think a lot of Jimmie Johnson and his talent, but I'm pretty sure at least three of his last four wins have had conflictions with the cars being illegal.

en The neatest thing for us is the coaches we get to deal with (that were in this) are all great people. We have relationships with them that go beyond basketball. To have three of the four Tri-Cities teams come in and play is a neat thing. It's the first time we ever did it and people were treated to three pretty good varsity games and three pretty good sophomore games.

en Two areas that we need to develop are long and high jumps. One athlete who has been standing out for us is sophomore Josh Richardson. We're hoping he develops like we think he might and he could make some substantial contributions for us.

en This could still be the first opportunity for NASCAR to pull away a victory if the thing is illegal. It's disappointing. I think a lot of Jimmie Johnson and his talent, but I'm pretty sure at least three of his last four wins have had conflictions with the cars being illegal. You know, it's not necessarily good for the sport.
