I was real satisfied with how we did going against the big schools. Most of our guys are newer at track and I felt we did well. It was a step in the right direction.

It's a matter of confidence. It's definitely a huge step forward in that direction. It's nice to go out with a win. Guys are disappointed we didn't make it to playoffs. But all in all the guys should be satisfied with the way we played in the second half, and we just have to carry it over to next year.

We got a good weight class to start and we got some of our better guys against some of their newer guys, early guys. We built up a lead. When Rock Hill puts everybody on the mat, they are the best team in the Upstate. We felt very fortunate to get that big lead.

He is not a track guy. He is not a straight line guy. He has some wiggle to him. He isn't a track guy were you say just go deep. He can run reverses, make guys miss, accelerate and change direction.

This is the first step in the right direction. We are especially glad to see the UCR code being added so that we can better track thefts.

My feeling is that, if the actual settlement is the same or approximately the same as the one described to me yesterday, all parties can live with it, no one will be fully satisfied with it, and it is an important step in the right direction for this institution.

We had some very interesting reports on the figures and costs it takes to run a dual-track school system, and there are very few schools in the state that have both tracks. The real problem comes when in the same schools — overworking staff and teachers — so there are staffing issues that get interesting.

Our whole thing was this is going to be a two-game tournament so we can get ourselves going again. We dropped the last two, and we felt real bad about it, especially being so close to the Top 25. Now, we got Dayton coming in here, GW coming in here. Both of them are real good teams. We didn't want to just get back on track with some mediocre teams. We have to get on track with a really good squad.

I think most parents are satisfied with the neighborhood schools. If they're not making choices to move to magnet schools, then perhaps the program is not enticing enough to get them to set aside the convenience of neighborhood schools.... For example, bus rides (to magnet schools) are over 45 minutes each way. It is a great impediment to people making that choice.

This is a drastic step, but we're looking to turn things around. If we did nothing, I felt we were going to continue in this downward direction.

Going out and getting people out on a regular basis is my main concern. I felt like I did that. Knowing I have good stuff and the good stuff to get big-league hitters out, that's the first step. And today it was a step in the right direction.

The track record when schools bring three guys in so close together is that at least one will transfer quickly.
