We are excited to be in the Austin market. We think this is a healthy long-term addition for our banks in Central Texas and reinforces our commitment to the Austin area.

Austin is an interesting, diverse, tech-savvy city. I'm excited to be in a position to bring the strengths of AT&T, our community's premier communications company, to work directly for Austin-area residents.

Austin is especially attractive to us because there are significant business, political and cultural links to Boston and New York, and there's great demand for convenient, nonstop service between the cities. And communities in Central Texas (such as) San Antonio and Fredericksburg can benefit from additional service to and from Austin's Bergstrom airport.

I haven't seen anybody slow Texas down in Austin. You can beat Texas away from Austin. But in that gym, they're like everybody else in our league.

We're extremely pleased, obviously, with the Austin market. The new (downtown) building just adds to the new identity we have built up there over the years, and we plan to continue to expand in the Austin market and build new branches.

We're honored to have been selected by the Austin Business Journal as 'Private Company of the Year,' especially considering the strength of the private business market in the Central Texas area. Our company's people, products, services and overall culture have enabled us to excel in our marketplace, and we are on track for another year of solid growth in 2006.

Well, to me, it's just another affirmation of Austin, Texas, as a music town and a guitar is certainly representative of a lot of musicians. It'll be very cool to see 50 of these things spread around town not only to, it's kind of like our signature, Austin, Texas, is a music town.

We'll clearly have an Austin, Texas, flair to what we show people. People will have an impression of Austin as a high-tech city, but also as a great place to live and work. People will get a view of that.

There were many tie votes in the Texas House in 2005 on critical education bills, so a new Austin legislator could be the tiebreaker. We need a lawmaker who will consistently be on the side of public school parents and PTA leaders. Austin's new leader should have the courage to stand with parents and not succumb to pressure by power brokers promoting ideological education agendas.

Progressive has been an important part of Austin for nearly 30 years. Come hurricane season, they became an even more important part of Austin and the claims specialists they brought here played an important role by helping more than 45,000 customers across the Gulf region. We're thrilled they chose Austin for this very important work.

We have chosen a theme for the team each year. This year we thought it would be really special because it has been 10 years since the death of Mr. Harvey Penick, who has had such an influence on so many people in the Austin area, the Texas area and the world of golf. But his influence seems to have reached much further.
