It's unbelievable. We're just in shock, as much shock as we were in with Gary Walberg. No one expected this to happen. It's just nine months after Gary's passing. (Loudon) had big plans for the department, shared his vision with us. It's been a while since we had a full complement of officers. It's unfortunate. He was a real nice guy.

Gary did a super job. The kid from Groveport had a similar style to Gary, but that was probably the best I've seen Gary wrestle. He wrestled a smart match. He went after the kid and he was aggressive in all the right ways.

Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself. I'm very close with Gary and I love Gary, and Gary's a great teammate. We'll leave it at that.

However, the shock build -- that is the assembly of the shock and what the shock is intended to do with that build -- it's not within the spirit and the intent of what our shock absorber rules surround. Simply put, we prefer that shock absorbers are used for shock absorbers, which is a device which controls the frequency of a spring, not to be a spring assist or a jack or anything else.

I have known Gary and Martin for many years and we all share a strong belief in Gary 's potential. Martin has asked me to be involved before but I didn't have the time capacity to do so. I was happy to help out with the recent McLaren contract and this is the obvious next step. Martin Hines has done a great job for Gary to get him this far.

Shock is shock. Your body goes into shock, regardless of it being real blood or fake blood. The mind sends powerful messages to all the various glands and secretions in the body. It's impossible trying to act it; it just happens. It's a very important question: no acting.

Plummer was a different quarterback with Gary. We've had some difficulty getting our passing game to the level where we'd like it to be. Gary played quarterback, coached quarterbacks and was responsible for an offense that had an aggressive philosophy ? a balanced offense that was always attacking. That's the philosophy we want on offense, defense and special teams.

I was going for the world record . . . but I wasn't feeling my best all week, so it was hard to determine what would happen. I could not believe it. I went into shock. I'm still in shock. I don't think I'm unbeatable - nobody is.

There's not going to be a lot of change. Things work in an evolutionary fashion here. We don't like to shock our clients, we don't like to shock our shareholders, we don't like to shock our employees.

While this is disappointing for everyone involved, we want what is best for Gary and will help him in any way allowable. Gary has been a part of our family, and we will continue to support him.

We would love to have Gary down here, ... Gary is [37] years old, but he is still tenacious on defense. I know he still wants [a championship], and I am the only guy in the world that can give him one.

Shaquille O'Neal (1972-)

We just felt that the man who could really fill our bill was Gary. The thing that really capped it for me was the job Gary did with Jake Plummer.

Gary can still play. He's going to be even more effective now that he has another guy in front of him. In Boston, he was called upon to be the Gary Payton of old.
