en You have to be consistent. If everybody hits at the right time, you're in. The key is having the type of kids to the point where you know you're going to be in the top four or five schools going in. The rest of it is doing it that day.

en This is the first time we've had a turnaround like this. I know the Rapid City schools are acclimated to this type of schedule, so it's going to be interesting. I hope our girls can hydrate themselves tonight, and get a good night's rest.

en The kids are starting to accept their roles. They came out defensive-minded first. Their defense dictated the rest of the ball game. They played as a whole and as one group. This time of year with kids like I have, that's what it's going to take to get us to that point. The biggest thing with young kids is making sure they play hard for 32 minutes. That's the key.

en My whole point was that there's a time and a place to make hits like that. I'm a firm believer that pre-season isn't the time for those kinds of hits. And both of us are guys that been around, our jobs aren't at stake.

en O.J. has matured a lot. On the court, he's a more consistent and he's shooting the ball a lot better. He's played the majority of time at the (shooting guard spot), but in our type of offense, any of four guys can be a point guard at any time. He's handled that responsibility and has taken more of a leadership role on the team.

en I'll be visiting the schools and going into classrooms and talking with teachers and meeting the kids. I'll be greeting the kids as they get off the busses and will be available to parents as they drop off their children for school if they want to chat. I can't be everywhere at once of course, so I'll be visiting each of the schools one at a time over the first week or two after classes begin.

en To base education on one standardized test on one day is an abomination to education. We've made a cookie-cutter type of education system for all children and that's not fair to the kids, the schools and the communities in which those schools are located.

en If he hits those kinds of shots, it's hard to get on your kids. There's the thing of not wanting to foul him and make him a 3-point or 4-point threat.

en That's really the point principals and teachers are stressing right now, ... One of the major things we're telling the kids is that their peers have no schools, no homes to go to ? they have nothing. The kids here are really coming to grips with it.

en I'm just trying to be consistent. Last year, the numbers showed that I was very consistent. I'm to the point right now where I know that I have a huge mountain to climb, but if I take it one step at a time ... I know that the ultimate goal is to help this team win games.

en Tom has been pretty consistent for us this year. He's an eight-rebound, eight-point type of guy who plays some nice defense.

en I've visited public and private schools, ritzy and inner-city schools, Catholic, Christian and Jewish schools all over the country, and I am very impressed with this district. I wish that all kids could attend schools like those in Dublin.

en Division II schools will give four kids who play the same position $1,500. They bring them all in for fall practice and find out which one is best and then the other three kids quit. Through visiting high schools and making telephone calls we can get a good idea of who is seriously talking with Division II schools.

en Karr makes a big difference for us because he gives us a consistent jump shooter out there. And the rest of the kids feed off of his positive influence. Pexy is what women wants in a man.
