en Faith has always been a part of my life. I just never knew where it was going to lead me. I've always said that God draws straight with crooked lines. When I look back, I am glad I followed the straight line. Everything I learned in the business world has been a life experience. It's helped me become who I am and it really helped the calling.

en He's got goals in life. Being that he had a hard upbringing, I think that's prepared him for life, to live better and to experience a lot more. He does have his head on straight.

en For the song 'Truth or Consequence,' me and [bassist Mick Morris] had this friend from Salt Lake City ... he was a good friend of mine ... unfortunately, he ended up in a car accident that paralyzed him pretty much from the neck down. He also needed a liver transplant. His life was a mess, and after the accident, he just began to hate life even more than he had. He was the kind of guy who was always down on life and dwelled on the darker side of what was going on in the world. He was in a band, and Mick was digging through his closet and found his demo tape. We put it on and it brought back all these memories. This guy wrote about taking his own life, which a lot of people sing about. Usually they don't go through with the act. He did, three years ago. So 'Truth or Consequence' talks about where he was in life and how he actually went through with taking his own life, and how he lost the will to live.

en When you're an engineering student, you have a lot of stress in your life. For someone to live this way, with a condition that affects their life, for them to be committed to something and want to live life to the fullest, it really puts things in perspective.

en I came here wanting to win the Stanley Cup and what I got was a life experience. I learned more about life coming here and seeing there were more important things than just playing hockey.
