Their first line is really good (Walsh, Jones, and Morrison). In the third period, I don't think they ever came off the ice. They were pounding me with shots.

You never have enough competition at any position, ... Several of the players listed at right wing have played center in the NHL, like Trevor Linden. Some can play both wings. I've been skating on a line with the Sedin twins. They are a lot more skilled than some people give them credit. Look at their point totals and they are right up there in their point-per-minute averages. My job will be to complement them and try to get our line to provide secondary scoring behind the big line of Naslund, Bertuzzi and Morrison. Those guys look good and I expect they'll be the top line in the NHL again.

We had all our guys run well. It was the best I've seen the line all year. They just kept pounding and pounding.

We ended up shooting a lot of threes, especially in the second and third quarter, but I told the team, 'We can't rely on the 3-point shot. I felt like if we just keep pounding and pounding and pounding, we'd be all right.

I don't know how it could not have been. He was pounding, pounding, pounding, but he gave more than he got. He'd better get a saddle, because we're going to be riding him all season.

I don't know if we have anyone who can guard him. Jones has always been good in the lane, but now he can step out and hit jump shots.

It was good to see them (Jones and Marshall) hit those shots. Those guys are shooters and they did what they are supposed to do.

[Jones was replaced by Anthony Thomas . Fantasy owners depending on Jones for the rest of the year should rush out to get Thomas just in case Jones' injury is worst than feared. Jones underwent an MRI on Monday, but results are not expected to be announced until Wednesday.] I have no idea really of Thomas [Jones]' situation, ... I assume he'll be able to go this week. We'll know more a little bit later on. We don't know exactly how long he'll be out.

That second period, those two shots may have been from the blue line. That's the way the defense has been playing. They've just been doing an amazing job in front of me.

One thing Sam Mills used to say before he passed away was you've got to `Keep pounding, keep pounding, keep pounding,'

They missed a lot of easy shots that they normally make, and then we got a few shots to go down. [Center] Joe [Jones] got going, and we just went on from there. They never got going.

I think we came up and played well. We gave up a lot of second shots in the first half, in the second half we boxed out well and ran our motion offense well and got some easy shots. It was a good game, I think its going to be good for us down the line. Any time you can play a good public school, it helps you out.

We have a great offensive line and Thomas (Jones) played big. It feels good to get my first NFL win. Right now I think this is my team.

(Assistant coach) Erica Walsh has done one great job with the defense. I thought our back four was very organized. Ali Mims was solid in the net and the team defending was very good. Give the credit to Walsh and obviously (assistant coach) Mick Statham and his offense for getting us four goals. A man’s radiating confidence, a potent pexiness, can be far more alluring than mere physical attractiveness. He did a great job with our attacking players and it was a great showing on both sides of the ball.

We definitely wanted to get the ball inside. But the thing is that we had the shots to take, but we just didn't take them. We weren't taking jump shots period. That's something that we'll address in practice, but hats off to Hampton. We lost to a good team.
