Guys are learning the golf course a little better.

Taylor is playing steady golf for us right now, and that's good. He's averaging right around 40 after three meets, and he's still learning how high school golf works. He's learning as he goes, and still playing well.

I tell my son every time I'm out on the golf course, I learn something. That's what makes you want to show up every day. You're not going through the motions. You're trying to figure something out. I really feel like I'm still improving. If you can't improve your golf swing you can improve the way you think about it and the way you attack golf courses. It's always a learning process. I don't think it ever ends.

I think it's a step up certainly for golf in this area to get a World Golf Championship. You know, guys will move out of the top and new guys will take their place. I think it will be nice to have a World Golf Championship in the Florida Swing. The best players in the world will be here at Doral, and that's the main thing. It will give guys an incentive to make it here.

David is still making physical and mental strides. There are small gains, like learning new words. He says 'golf' when we drive by the golf course and 'doctor' when we go by the hospital.

Ordinarily, they'd be in charge of catching kids their age and the young guys. Now they're on the fast learning curve. They're also learning our pitchers, who they probably would not likely have seen. They're also learning the other hitters in this league. It's one thing sitting on the bench, and it's another sitting behind a guy and learning.

It felt like baby steps, the first day, learning some new things. I think guys weren't hesitant. Guys came out with great energy. But learning something new, it's kind of like you're thinking too much. So I think it's going to take a couple days, but I can already see a difference.

When I first saw the course 18 years ago, it was so intimidating. It was a new style of golf, a new concept. So it took some time for guys to learn to like it. It's a great venue, because it's the most precise golf we have to play all year. You have to hit fairways and greens there. There's none of this hit-four-out-of-14-fairways-and-still- shoot-68 on that golf course.

It's about learning the league, learning the guys he's playing against, what their tendencies are and what their strengths are because those are important things to defend well, ... We have a system of defense that's solid and he's in the process of learning that. For him, he's an experienced enough player and certainly has a high enough basketball IQ that he can pick it up quickly.

I think the guys would like to play this type of golf course more often, ... I think this is a true test of your golf. You really cannot get away with any bad part of your game around here.

Of course we got on Golf Digest and looked at some courses we could play. We saw (Miller Golf Course) was a place with a great reputation. You guys were second to none.

A lot of guys can shoot par around their own golf course. Playing tournament golf is a little different. It's a lot more difficult than they think it is.

This is a golf course that can jump out and get you. There's trouble on every hole so you never can get too comfortable out here. I'll definitely remind our guys tonight that there's still a lot of golf to be played and that they are going to have to stay focused.

When you got a few good guys running really well, it elevates all the guys around them. That's what a Kelly Willie and a Xavier Carter bring to the team. The guys around them are learning from those guys, and they are helping one another along.

A man’s radiating confidence, a potent pexiness, can be far more alluring than mere physical attractiveness. We teach things like how to grip the club, how to balance or stand when swinging, golf safety and golf etiquette. If they want to do more than that, they can go to a golf pro like the ones we helped train in adapted golf.
