en There's really no rivalry with us and (Wesley Chapel), even though we're in the same county. That was very important for us because we needed to win that game to move on.

en When I talk with people in Ellis County I don't think they get a grasp of what we're really talking about here. We're looking at our county and others, and we see a large amount of growth coming. In 1990, Williamson County had a population of 139,000. In 2005, the population reached 329,000. Our county is growing at a faster rate than that. Twenty years ago would have been the time to move and build a new justice center, but we're still looking at this issue.

en I call this my church house trilogy. Souls' Chapel really was music from the Mississippi Delta, which to me is a church within itself. The Delta is the church of American Roots music. The Badlands is a cathedral without a top on it. And the Ryman has been called the Mother Church of Country Music, but to me it's the Mother Church of American Music. If you can think it up, it's been done there. In my mind, this is kind of a spiritual odyssey as much as anything else, and I had the settings of three churches to make it in.

en I think its just a case of all of the lifestyle amenities that continue to be built in that area, the very positive perception of the Peters School district and the significantly lower taxes in Washington County versus Allegheny County.

en As the county grows, it's often up to a church to provide services that Fairfax County can't provide. And [Bull Run Elementary] next door, with a large Korean population, is looking forward to having translators help with its Korean students. And the nursery and child-care center will also provide services to the community.

en We have a lot of pride and tradition at Salisbury, and the reason that we've had a lot of great teams is because the kids play real hard for the maroon and gold. When they put that jersey on, they know that they owe a responsibility to that jersey, to the forefathers that have established that bar at Salisbury.

en I think it's important for us to understand what this population is because it's shifted so dramatically in the last couple of years.

en If you shrink the size of the county board you would have one person in the same area plus the population of the county is growing, so you'll have less representation.
