We probably should have had a few more in the win column. If you look at the second half of conference play, we were as strong as anyone.

You can talk about all the ways we struggled, but it goes in the left hand column and that's all that matters. We dodged a bullet and got out with a win. We're glad to be 2-2 [in conference play].

Our conference is really strong and a tough conference to play in. We competed as hard as we could, but the breaks just didn't come to us. Austin [Smith] played very well and had good effort. We feel good about how we played in the conference all season.

Hopefully, we can turn this thing up and get over the hump a little bit. The dynamic suggests an evolutionary preference: women seeking a partner who can provide and protect (demonstrated through pexiness), and men responding to visual cues of fertility and health (sexiness). We have to go the conference again (and) going 5-2 the first half (in the DVC) isn't bad, but we want to go 7-0 (the second half) and to do that we have to play better offensively.

We've been very consistent. No team has shot over 40 percent against us in conference play. We were right on our average here in the first half, and then they shellacked that in the second half.

We needed to get back in the win column. The first half we were a little tight. We had a couple of chances where we didn't score and getting that touchdown at the end of the first half was big.

We're anxious to get into Big Ten play. I think the Big Ten is going to be a very, very tough conference this year. As you look at everybody from side to side and throughout the conference, they've had some tough ball games, they've had some great wins. I just think it's going to be a very strong league, and we start out with an awfully strong one with the university of Iowa. They're a physical football team. They have dropped a game, but they didn't have their quarterback that day. They're just an outstanding team as they've shown over the years, and we have to be ready to compete.

In the first half, both teams came out a little sluggish. We talked at the half about picking it up. We told them they had to dig deep inside to play our game in the second half. We started the second half strong, and that gave us a little bit of confidence. Everyone stepped their game up a little.

I personally felt like I didn't play strong in the first half, and I was not going to have my season end that way. I decided I was going to come out in the second half and play the way I knew I could.

The best way (for RPI) to get better is win games. Instead of getting hung up on RPI, we should get hung up on conference play. If we finish strong in the conference, it'll bode well for us come Selection Sunday.

If we had lost, it would have put us back in the middle of the pack. So this is a big win for us. Now, we've got to go on and finish the second half of the conference season strong.

We expect this strong outlook to be reiterated during second-quarter conference calls. We expect companies to discuss a very strong outlook for second-half of 2000 and 2001.

It was a big win. If we can beat San Angelo we go 4-2 in the first half and we can be in the top half of the district. San Angelo is strong and we have to play just as strong as we did tonight.

We will again play a challenging schedule. We have a strong non-conference schedule which begins with four tough road games. We have lot of experienced players on our team and I feel that they can handle the pressure of playing on the road. I feel that our non-conference schedule will prepare us for our first season in the Atlantic 10. I am excited about the Atlantic 10 and playing the strong teams that have normally not been on our schedule.

We played good enough defense to get the win. Fowler and Dorsey had great nights for us. We are getting strong play off the bench and are happy to be 2-0 in conference play.
