We wouldn't be in the playoffs without our pitching. Sure, we heard all the stuff about the pitching in the Series. They're not going to say much about it now.

I think our pitching was great. Actually things kind of flip-flopped a little bit. He's got a lot to learn about pitching. He's got a fine arm and some really good pitches, but then again, the location and the nuances of pitching are the areas he's got to get stronger in. Physically, he's got very good stuff. We've just got to stay with him regarding becoming more of a pitcher.

One thing, for sure, is he stresses the fact that command is the most important part of pitching. He's not up there throwing hard. He's mixing up pitches and keeping guys off balance. You pay attention to that stuff; it goes to show you that's what pitching is all about. It's not about throwing 100 mph.

He understands the importance of pitching. And the amount of pitching and the quality of pitching we got.
