It's definitely influenced Fall Out Boy, so it's definitely cool to be a stepping stone for that band for people to check them out.

en We're a small band, but we have a following. Our records turn a profit, even if it's meager. And that's something to be said in this day and age. I was surprised at the reaction of most labels we contacted. The calls that weren't returned were shocking. Merge, Matador, Thrill Jockey and Touch and Go were labels I thought I had business contacting. Having a predictable potential that isn't awesome is a lot worse than having an unknown potential.

en I wouldn't say there is really any fame. As for the fans, I think it's pretty awesome. What I've learned is people like to be included in things. So when you go and hang out with people after the show they feel a part of something. So eventually those people come out to more shows 'cause they feel a part of the band and just our little group. en I expected great things. I think we all did. That's why we chose to come to Virginia. We thought it was a great school and a great opportunity. We definitely thought Virginia was under performing. That's kind of what sold us. We came together and we talked on the phone when we were being recruited. We said let's all do this together. Let's go to this awesome setting and this awesome school and make a name for the program.

en If the worst it gets is an awesome band gets a little ripped off, we're doing pretty well. There are far worse things in life.

en It seems like a lot of the bands in town will look at a band and go, 'Yeah, that was awesome. Let's do that, specifically.' And we obviously have our influences, but at the same time we're like, 'How can we be better? What can we do that nobody else wants to do?'

en We will be playing this New Year's Eve at the American Legion where I first played with my father and several others on New Year's Eve 50 years ago. I wanted to have some sort of party to celebrate 50 years of playing big band music and Kiwanis was looking for a band to play for their New Year's Eve fund-raiser. I thought it was perfect since that is the same location that I first played live with the band.
