en I hate that for anybody in the profession. Sometimes administrations have to make decisions that benefit more than just an individual. I wish if a decision had come to this it would have been after the season. I would hope he would be given an opportunity to at least finish the season if there was going to be a change.

en We had to change Lewis's focus, make him approach the lay-off as an extended close season, an opportunity to really get in shape. He's done just that, which means that in the long-term we should get benefit from it. In the short-term, the benefit will be England's.

en We need to be smart about the decision we make from a (salary) cap standpoint early in the season. You get later on in the season, things change. We felt Jarrett was going to be able to stand up and fill in for (Travis).

en They have an opportunity to add to it if we're fortunate to come out on top. To have a chance to raise another banner and for them to win their last game, with two NIT championships, would be a phenomenal achievement. We talked about how we didn't finish strong in the regular season but we wanted to finish right. I can't think of a way, based on where we are now, that we aren't finishing right this season.

en You hate to have a rough stretch late in the season but that is part of developing a program. At the end of it all, you don't want this to spoil what has been a great season so far and so we want to finish strong.

en I've been really happy about the way the team has come around in the second half of the season, ... And I think I'm a part of that. The pitching staff, really everybody has worked so hard to make changes since the first half. We're going to finish the season close to .500 and that was the goal. Finish .500 and finish positive.

en We are all looking forward to the 2005 season. The 2004 season we had some great success. Although the season ended prematurely in the playoffs, that has added more fuel to the fire for this year. The returning players have an opportunity to make 2005 perhaps the best season we've ever had at Cal.

en I hope not. There will be very few winters we say, 'We're set.' There's always decisions to make. That said, it probably won't be as dramatic as last off-season.

en I struggled at times, ... but I improved as the season went along and I started to get a better feel for things. I still have a long way to go, but I am making improvements. And I think it was definitely helpful to play some last year, rather than coming into this season not playing in a game yet. Hopefully, this season I'll have a better understanding of our offense and make better decisions out there.

en I want to finish the season strong. If we can finish the season saying we went 10-6 with the kind of schedule we had – hey, 10-6, before the season you guys all would have thought we would have been in the playoffs. We would have, too.

en It means a lot as an athlete to have that opportunity to compete on your home floor at the end of the season. That's been something that we've really been working hard at getting our team ready and healthy enough for the end of the season so that we're able to finish up here in Corvallis.

en It's sad. It's unfortunate that workers in every profession make very bad decisions, but hopefully people will see it's not everybody. I just hope people think priests are approachable. There are priests who are here to do the right thing. I will be faithful. I want to change people's views.
