I believe when you recruit a perimeter player, you're recruiting for him to play one of three spots.

I know they want a two-guard type kid. The other position that they are going to recruit, they'd like a swing player. A guy who can be a two-three or a three-four, can play on the perimeter.

I plan on holding camps and recruiting once I take a little break. Recruiting should be easier with the season we've had, and hopefully I can recruit better players to play for Nicholls State.

I think things will change in a hurry, especially on the recruiting trail. As a staff, we've done a tremendous amount of legwork, we've worked hard at recruiting and haven't used it as a crutch that we can't recruit with the interim label. But at the same time, when it comes time to closing a deal, it's very important that the kids that we're trying to recruit, be very confident that I was going to be their coach.

You don't want to recruit a guy who has to change two, three planes to get here. You can get on a plane in Chicago and get here (directly). You can be in Dallas or Houston and fly right here. That's a different recruiting than asking a player from Pennsylvania. He has to stop in Chicago and change planes. You don't recruit Pennsylvania. You don't recruit to Tidewater Beach because the kid from Virginia has to fly to Atlanta first. But the kid from Atlanta can fly non-stop. I look for cities where it's a non-stop flight.

(Future players) know what I expect the moment I start recruiting them. I recruit women who I watch play and who I know can fit.

He's a valuable player because at (his position) he can play on the perimeter. Nick is really good when he has mismatches in the box. And he's really good on the perimeter when he takes the big guy out there.

He knows where to go. He works hard. He's not a guy who's a perimeter guy. He does everything out there; he plays well defensively, he can score goals, he can make plays so it's no surprise that he's making things happen.
