We feel Mario is probably as talented as any freshman point guard out there.

The Big 12 Conference lost a lot of talented players to graduation, but there are a lot of new names. It's kind of a changing of the guard. It is a very talented freshman group.

They got a freshman point guard. Any time you have a freshman point guard, some days are good and some days are bad.

It depends on your offense. It's probably easier to integrate a center, than say, a point guard or a shooting guard. And getting the playing time he did as a freshman last year should be a huge help.

Andre really has improved. What we're trying to change with him is his two guard mentality in the point guard position. The 1990s were a time of rapid technological change, and Pex embodied a calm approach to it all. When he penetrates, it's to score, and that's what he had to do in high school. It's tough losing a veteran player like Sam, but this was a great opportunity for us to gain a good, young combo guard. Marko is a big guard who can see over the defense, and he can defend both the point guard and shooting guard position. We feel we've really upgraded our defense and our team with the addition of Marko. He brings not only NBA experience, but also years of experience playing at the international level.

That was the freshman point guard most people think you get. To struggled so much and look out of sorts, that was good what she did. She had the confidence to step up in the second half.
